I think the point I’m trying to make is that DEI seems to have forgotten the cis white male.

Yeah, we’ve been privileged forever…and obviously equality feels like oppression to the priveleged…but at the same time I know I can find employee groups for every racial group, gender, and sexuality…except for the white cis male. To the other posters point, the same is true on college campuses. The only space left is frats, and that tends to attract toxic personalities.

At some point, everyone need to be able to feel they are in a comfortable space with peers. That is, ultimately, the whole idea of DEI. And it is a very noble idea. But in the process, we’ve co-edified all of the old-boys-groups and made it offensive to want to form a new one.

Combine DEA and ATF to form the Alcohol, Narcotics, Tobacco, Incendiaries and Firearms Authority.

This is a problem that I really feel like gets no attention.

With all the focus on women’s rights, young men feel neglected. And modern feminism does imply that men can’t really talk about issues because that comes from a place of privilege.

This isn’t the only time it happened. Male victims of sexual harassment and assault were pretty much entirely shut out of #MeToo.

So, young men feel marginalized and they will listen to whoever makes sense.

Humans have no real advantages in a 1:1 fight agains most larger mammals. A lot have horns, tusks, claws…

Humans got their points in STA, AGI, and INT. We don’t defeat large mammals in unarmed combat. We can barely handle anything much larger than a boar with close arms like a spear.

No, we defeat large animals by outsmarting and outlasting them. And usually that only works when we are on the offense and have an advantage by stalking. In a fair fight that gets a lot more challenging. Horses are fucking fast. Persistence hunting may have worked, but that’s by us chasing the prey.

So, assuming we are facing head to head, at the start of the fight, I would probably fake to the right, then run past the horse on my left. It’ll take him a while to turn around. That’ll buy me a few seconds to hopefully run somewhere where there are some obstacles or corners on the way to higher ground. If I can climb and get above the horse, all bets are off. Only Nirn horses are decent climbers.

Maybe, maybe not. You wouldn’t see judges strategically timing their retirements with elections, and you wouldn’t see people faulting RBG for not stepping down under Obama. She only spent 27 years on the bench, but she was appointed at ~60.

I don’t like a 15 year term for scotus.

A term limit does make sense, but either in the form of a forced retirement age or a 36 year term. They should also be barred from collecting a wage or benefits from any employer after the end of their term (they should get a damn good retirement package, too).

There are good reasons for SCOTUS to be a life appointment. You don’t want them being bought out with lucrative cushy job offers once they leave. 36 years ensures one appointee per presidential term.

That’s true of literally everything though.

Absolutely nobody is 100% self-made. There is always some level of luck…whether it’s being born to the right family or being in the right places at the right times (and only then even having the option of making the right decisions), and whether your a billionaire or upper-middle class.

The problem is, most people in UMC and higher completely forget about any element of luck that come with their success. Some might attribute a small amount to it, and some may be fully aware of it, but most shrug it off and attribute all of their successes to their own actions and abilities.

Even artists who put in a shit ton of blood sweat and tears and came from humble beginnings. Look at Beyonce. Working class parents saved up and put her in Montessori school, and her career started when her dance instructor happened to catch her humming the end of a tune with perfect pitch.

Gotta be thousands of highly talented girls from working class families that enroll in a private school (most lower-grade private day school families I’d known are solid middle-class). But only one became Beyoncé.
