I find this impossible. As I try to write the second word of the sentence, my mind is already paragraphs later in the train of thought.

1·2 years agoYeah, I’m old school like that. I keep roughly 128GB of music in 256k AAC on my phone at all times. I also have Plexamp for streaming the full lossless collection off my NAS if I can’t find what my ears crave on my phone.

2·2 years agoDig deeper, music isn’t ever boring. Maybe it’s how you’re discovering new music that needs a rehaul.
Perhaps I’ve “missed out” as I’ve always had folders full of albums in some digital format. I did streaming for a while then rolled my own with Plex and a NAS, but I’ve always had an offline stash of full albums with me. I dunno, every time I feel like I’m not enjoying music it’s a personal issue, not a result of “modern music”.

Movies@lemmy.world•Have you ever been to a movie so terrible that you saw people leaving the theater? Which one was it?English
109·2 years agoRogue One is mid. I wouldn’t walk out but also, it’s not one I’d have paid to see in the theater in the first place.

4·2 years agoI’m enjoying my ultrawide Alienware OLED for flight sim purposes quite well. I have VR for doing some VFR flying but for anything with instruments I like to keep it basic and 2D.
The black hole gun you get in Unreal 2 is really neat.

722·2 years agoOf all the things to use machine learning for, identifying poisonous fucking mushrooms seems like a poor choice. I’m sure it sounds very confident in its wrong answer, though.

I’d love to hear from someone well versed in security if this is legit or significant weaknesses exist, but the math seems to check out as far as I can tell.
Watch out, you can’t say anything good about any Apple products on Lemmy lest you seek downvotes. Anything less than hate is insufficient.

7·2 years agoThey do get into some wild border clashes without guns though, some of my favorite modern war videos. Bunch of dudes shoving and whacking each other with axe handles.
This is a good game but goddamn are some of the level layouts and puzzles frustrating. Colony ship for sale, cheap anyone?

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft is once again injecting pop-up ads into Google Chrome on Windows in a bid to get people to switch to BingEnglish
182·2 years agoStill incorrect, I believe. The pop ups are from Windows. They’re not doing anything to Chrome. Maybe that’s a pedantic technicality but it matters to me, and probably in a legal sense as well.
Microsoft has plenty of shitty practices to report on, including the browser pop ups in windows. There’s no need to lie for clicks. I dunno what the commotion about The Verge is you’re referring to, I’m just commenting on the headline.

846·2 years agoI looked at the links in the source and they’re Windows popups, not Chrome injections. Shitty reporting from the verge.

Yes, I have my Plex server facing the internet. No reverse proxy, my networking game isn’t at that level yet. I have a half dozen friends and family who use it for movies/TV also.
