I would imagine due to history that Russia has extremely deep networks of intelligence and military ops occurring constantly in Cuba since the 60s.

Cuba has always used human capital. During the Soviet years they provided military groups internationally, after it is doctors and nurses which they ran out of. The state always makes out.

doctors and nurses which they ran out of

What? AFAIK Cuba still sends those out all over the world.

They’re some of the few doctors that’ll work in the more remote regions in South America.

All because the tough diaper leader is afraid to massively conscript in the largest cities. That is why the vast majority of recruits, that have not been convicts, are from poor and ethnic minority regions.

    https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2022/10/06/poorer-russian-regions-conscripting-more-soldiers-investigation-says-a79002

Kind of same behaviour as some other Übermenschen from about 85+ years ago…

    Edit: better link and context.

The Kremlin has murdered too many of their people. That’s part of the reason Russia is experiencing demographic collapse.

Being reported as an invalid source, but I’m not able to find anything negative about them on the various bias sites, of course, there’s nothing POSITIVE either… which isn’t a good sign.

Story is being covered by Reuters, so I’ll leave it for now. If someone can definitively point to them being a garbage source, PM me and I’ll remove it.

“Bias sites” should be entirely disregarded as think tank propaganda

I mean, given the historic relations between Cuba and Russia, I can’t say I’m necessarily SURPRISED by it. It would be weirder if it were a country that you wouldn’t commonly associate with Russia, like, I dunno, Belgium or somebody.
