TL;DW: The creator of Sam & Cat is exactly as weird as you’d imagine from watching it and iCarly, and way more abusive than you could imagine. They had to separate him from the cast at one point.
I’ve no idea who any of the people in that video are, I understand what’s being said about the main guy, but as a complete outsider to the whole thing, that video sounds very much like a witch hunt. A lot of supposing and apparently etc.
He probably is a weirdo, but I suspect if anyone was able to dive into the murky past of most Hollywood kids that they wouldn’t like what they find. This guy must’ve hurt somebody to be singled out. Would love to see how far back you would have to look into Disney before finding something nasty.
Well for Dan people said for years he’s too touchy with the kids and he has a weird foot fetish. For the other two producers they were convicted of assaulting children, one who was on the show, and Nick and Dan tried to cover it up as much as possible to avoid bad press.
Well, that’s fucked. I believe it was on Behind the Bastards that Robert Evans and Guest were alluding to this and comparing it to the Harry Potter kids who were apparently watched out for very well by the parents.
If you actually watch the documentary they also talk about 2 pedophiles who were on his set at nick and convicted during that time and one pedophile who was convicted from a disney set.
It’s less about Dan schneider specifically (although he does seem to have a lot of unprofessional, sexist, and inappropriate mannerisms) and more about the need to increase protections for the physical and mental well being of child actors as a whole
