That is entirely incorrect. Microsoft doesn’t own the company and never did. MS bought the phone division and a license for the name to go with it.
I tried to look up what this notice is actually about, but there’s nothing out there yet. So can’t say much being a patent troll “arm” either.
There are two interpretations.
It’s either do the intended job, but nothing extra, which I think is just normal work, or don’t even try to do the job properly, do as little as possible while staying unnoticed to avoid getting fired.
The name implies the latter, but that’s not how all people use it.
I would assume that these people are there mainly because they know what to do if something goes wrong, instead of sitting there for easily automatable tasks.

I doubt GDPR can reach this in any way as it’s foreigners’ data collected and stored in a foreign country.
I’m not sure if it’s directly EU-level, but unauthorized identity registries collected without consent are very illegal here; a certain religious organisation already got into trouble for keeping track of households that might want to talk about jesus. If this app is legal in US, the law really needs to be changed.
In my experience lots of games go for this “generic movie-like” style, which sounds high production value, but where the composition is just unmemorable filler that says nothing.
Halo was great in this regard, so I don’t think that’s what he’s going for here. Hell, I’m instantly getting Halo ost playing in my head while writing this.
If it’s all of these links and just on Memmy, it’s probably an issue with the app. I use Voyager and they work fine. You could ask about that at !memmy@lemmy.ml or file an issue at their GitHub if someone hasn’t already.
I think both of those are still used extensively.
The other results had iFunny and 9GAG watermarks on them and/or were even more deepfried with compression.
But somehow, the JPEG artifacts give this one a nice cozy feel. Seeing this ancient meme again was like meeting an old friend.
I don’t know why, but I first just thought this as finding some old note the person had written whilst alive.
