I joined after EMPRESS got banned from reddit and reccomended here. She got banned from lemmy.ml instance later and didn’t bother looking for another instance. I never thought I’d stick with Lemmy; until reddit pretty much removed all third party apps. I kinda dislike mainstream social media like Twitter and Instagram; so I decided to go with this.

Crypto could be used as a way to track all incoming - outgoing donations without dealing with any centralised payment services; but it doesn’t have a good reputation and could disinterest a lot of people.

However having a centralised payment regulator could give them too much control over how the posts look to users.

This is just an idea I’m throwing:

Similar to old Reddit Gold system, a visible marker (or a tipbot that replaces it maybe?) that shows amount of donations a post gets in a digestible manner and also contributes to server hosters.

This could incentivise keeping up servers and communities for longer times and even encourage higher quality content.

The tweet says they’ve seen the reports of a potential RCE, if they acknowledge this that pretty much means there is something that could achieve it. (or am i reading into it incorrectly?)

But they also state that this hasn’t been exploited.

There is an RCE exploit in EAC which has been confirmed by their twitter account; but they didn’t confirm of it being exploited anywhere.

My belief is that the people responsible into it hacked these people months ago; as a few months ago the same hacker did attack ImperialHal while on stream with botted zombie accounts that follow him to kill him. On that stream’s highlights all those bots were named (number)destroyer2009fan; which is the same as the person that spammed the chat at the time of the hack.

This is not an advertisement for cheats. Searching the hacker’s name in cheat forums doesn’t point to any specific program. I suspect that this is openly calling out Respawn to fix their anticheat, which has been a laughing stock.

I had a scam that netted me in no change in money whatsoever.

These scammers offer you this “you’ll rate these stuff on sites and we’ll give you money”, after completing a first batch and they give you some money, they’ll try to get the victim to believe they are legit. After believing that you’re trusting them enough, they pull the ponzi card “for next missions pay us 30-1000$ amount; you’ll recieve double after doing them”.

I got 30$ from them in total so I sent 30$ knowing it was a scam to see what they would do; of course they blocked me. I was expecting them to try to get more money out of me, appearently they’re satisfied with getting their bait back.

I kinda wanted an ironic linux bashing community similar to banvideogames. Could be really fun.
