And what data would this client be handling via the API?
Even Signal discourages third party apps for this reason you are indeed missing.

China and Russia are trying to gain favor just in case the US stops supporting Israel.
How would a third party client guarantee e2e encryption with iMessage?
And by what mechanism was that company enabling that bridge? Did that mechanism store iCloud credentials? Did it encrypt the drives the users iCloud data could have been downloaded to? Did they have access to iMessages in clear text before forwarding them?
What are you asking for? For iMessage to become the standard for messaging?
It’s the telcos fault SMS sucks and it’s the telcos fault RCS is a joke unless you use Googles implementation on Android.

If you want an example of how warped conservatives are:
Their coverage of this is decoupled from reality.
It looks like he’s shooting it a giant wall with fencing on top of it. Likely the same giant wall with fencing on it where he got shot from.
This kid shot a firework at an armed fortification of an invading force.
I saw the video, he was firing fireworks towards what looked like a fenced border wall, likely manned with soldiers.
Should that fence and other shit be there? Probably not.
Should you be shooting fireworks at armed fortifications during an invasion? Definitely not.
That kid resisted the invasion with the tools he had, he fought and lost.
It may well have been blackmail. We probably offered more precise intelligence if they’d offer some concessions on their invasion. Although I really wouldn’t call it blackmail.
