I think the distinction comes in how you get there.
I think the distinction comes in how you get there.
Really I think it’s kind of the opposite. There are plenty of jobs awaiting higher skilled labor. Just as Excel didn’t hurt accounting, it gave many people who weren’t trained I’m accounting to take on more tasks than they would have.
I knew women’s health was not great, but medicine isn’t like on TV and a lot of it is still a crapshoot, but once I was engrossed in the world of maternity I found that women’s health is abysmal.
I just meant that it isn’t a vote to call for elections, so it felt like he was implying some democratic system in place. Plus external pressure can be leveraged to effect in their system.
I’ve heard it as “No one is losing their job to AI, but they will lose their jobs to someone who is using AI.”
The people of Israel will choose when they will have elections
Well, that is not really how it works, is it? They either have elections after 4 years OR they can be called early (and often are) by the President or a majority of parliament member. They had elections in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Furthermore the US doesn’t have such a system, so it is silly to draw a comparison.
Yeah, Obama got lucky and learned a big lesson from it, tried to pass on that lesson to his successor and it fell on deaf ears. I mean really, it’s not a surprise, the contempt shown was beyond political, it was pathological.
When Trump/pandemic is brought up I say, “It could have happened to any President, but it was definitely going to happen to Trump.”
I once spent a night on vacation copying all the floppy disks for Project Chicago (alpha of Win 95). It was like 50 disks.
Piracy having to occur in person was a short lived thing. Though even at that time BBSs were a thing, but I can’t imagine how long that would have taken to download.
Buying an actual TV Guide to get the schedule
Firstly, there are plenty of people who believe that humans have made terrible mistakes when selectively breeding dogs. See the oft-reposted “dog breeds then be now” image. Which leads into the primary technical reason eugenics doesn’t work, the fallibility of human decision making combined with the lack of perfect information.
Some traits may seem undesirable, however biodiversity is very important for survivability, and we are already very non-diverse genetically. Consider sickle cell anemia, a blood disease caused by a genetic trait. However part of the trait that causes it also offers protection from malaria.
Second is the controversial aspect. Who gets to decide which traits are desirable? If left up to individuals we would be awash with poorly informed trends, but if some central authority were given control, it could never be apolitical and would certainly devolve from any scientific basis into ideology.
This was what was so crazy about Trump vs Obama. Obama had such a a big target on his back, he had to act unimpeachably. But Trump was pretty much impeachable from the start.
