That is a hard nope from me. In no world do I want any core part of any operating system I use directly or indirectly relying on the JavaScript ecosystem.
Aside from the performance concerns the security and longevity problems are through the roof.
Naw, they just like to see that 60-70% unanswered rate for problems and issues. Makes for the best community support.

Wonder how much that ends up costing per month and how much that ends up costing over the lifetime of the vehicle.
Assuming the lifetime even matters when they decide to just cut off subscriptions at some point in the future to turn features off to drive you towards buying a new vehicle and dumping this one like a good consumer.
Yeah but the searching also kind of sucks for detailed information.
If only we had these things called search engines that indexed websites that had information on them.
It’s even worse when open source projects point you towards their discord for questions and support.

It only works that way if you are willfully ignorant. As does everything else in the world.
You can easily calculate your taxes, and your necessary withholdings from that on your W4. There’s even a stupid simple grid to match your income to on one of the pages…
It’s like a grocery store where you know the prices, but they’re rounded to the nearest $0.01. but at checkout you have to make up the difference that wasn’t shown on the price tags. Which overall constitutes a minimal portion of your overall bill.

I can already tell that this community is going to be an absolute dumpster fire with this sort of narrow visioned with hunt modding attitude.
And I don’t even think the problem is the community existing hail corporate is a hilarious and fun concept. I think the problem is the person creating and saying they are going to mod the community being narrow-minded, and toxic.
Yeah I see this turned into a witch hunt for places where fruitful discussion may have otherwise happened.
It’s interesting to get an inside view and how some corporations do their BS, which usually requires discussing it which is often kicked off by some complaint or misunderstanding of how the world works.
Are you really suggesting that we take the low quality Reddit approach to high quality subs like /r/funny?
I suppose this is what happens when the lowest common denominator goes down coupled with ignorance of how the lowest common denominator affects community quality.
Communities lose their niche by catering to the lowest common denominator and become homogeneous with each other. This has been a long-standing phenomena on Reddit, one which I would expect to not be carried over to Lemmy since it’s largely a symptom of a user base that has more interest in memes, funnies, and celebrity worship than discussion and real news.
What is the point of this comment then?
Of course there are people that haven’t heard of this or don’t understand this. The world didn’t freeze and people didn’t stop being born, new humans growing up and becoming adults and just learning about various parts of the world everyday don’t know about these sorts of things.
Education and information is a perpetual struggle and a perpetual effort.
