Spain also hand counts. At each poll station there are three citizens recruited at random (sort of like jury duty) who run each ballot box. They check voter’s credentials and cross off names from the list. The process is overseen by each parties appointed “overseers”. The whole counting process must be validated by all. I prefer this method. Machines can be tampered with.

If I read correctly this has the same detection rate as the shit test. I’m in my 50’s and asked my doctor about taking the shit test. She said that she was reluctant to have me do it because the high rate of false positives caused unnecessary stress and trauma in many people. I trust her, so I didn’t press for it.

Who would pay for stuff? Ads are not inherently bad, it’s misuse is. I wouldn’t mind a website with one or two ads per page. I hate these sites with an ad after each paragraph. I use Firefox with Ublock origin, Privacy badger and use Next DNS in my router because of Ad excesses. Ultimately the greed of website publishers is their own demise.
