That’s a very naive equivalence
That’s a very naive equivalence
I liked last epoch. Got about 40 hours in with two playthroughs. Necromancer is just a blender of death, and old wizard man drops meteors on everything.
The end game is a little tepid and there’s no ng+, so I’m done with it for now, but I feel like I got my money’s worth.
I don’t like the Christmas tree effect either, where your character is less important than your stack of magic doodads and buffs.
The pathfinder crpgs are 1e. I’m not sure how much changed in 2e, but I’m told it’s much better.
Myself, I’m playing Fate now.
D&D 5e is kind of bad system. It’s “good” in that it’s hard to make a bad character, and it’s popular, but that’s most of what it has going for it. It’s missing a lot of rules you’d want for a general purpose RPG. Centering it on rests only works in rather specific kinds of games. The magic system is very bespoke and thus clunky. The dice math if 1d20+stuff gives you a flat probability, which is often unsatisfying.
Pathfinder 2e is widely considered better than 5e in every way, unless you actually specifically want the simple+shallowness of 5e. Which is a fine thing to want, but that is a pretty big trade off. If you were just playing with friends, you’d probably be better off with Fate or maybe a PbtA game if you want simple narrative stuff, or Gloomhaven if you just want a board game.
If the game is good (I have not played it nor seen any review so I don’t actually know, but the article is making it sound like the only issues are the mtx) aside from the predatory mtx, does it deserve a mostly negative rating ?
Yes. Yes I think it does. Seems like many other people agree!
There’s rarely any reason to preorder a digital thing. They don’t run out of stock.
The preorder “bonuses” are rarely worth it.
You made the right choice.
BG3 is a good game. It is held back by D&D 5e’s weird ass rules.
The rest system is extremely clunky. With a human DM and a time sensitive story you can kind of get some good out of it. Without that, it’s just extra loading screens of wonky difficulty/balance.
Plus the character options are shallow. Not everything needs to be a crazy Path of Exile level of complexity, but D&D 5e surprisingly few meaningful options.
I’m okay with this. I liked BG3 but I really intensely dislike D&D as a rules system.
There was one place a friend worked where all the glassdoor reviews said there were “growing pains”. I don’t think that many normal people who have intact souls would describe startup dysfunction as “growing pains.”
That’s what I took from the “she didn’t come to my state and share her vision with me, specifically” thing. Or the related "I don’t like being called flyover country ", I guess. Maybe I just don’t get the people in question.
I live in a major city and don’t feel politically ignored. A little, what do you call it, victim of a tyranny of a minority, sometimes, what with like North and South Dakota having senators.
Untitled Story was by the person who made Celeste. It’s old and looks like it was made in mspaint, but it was such a good metroidvania.
Except for leap seconds. Time is the worst to work with :(
Doesn’t seem to be a big problem for much of the thread nor many other threads.
You’re probably getting down voted because you asked here instead of a search engine, and many people think it’s common knowledge, and it was already answered in this thread.
Sometimes an innocent question looks like someone JAQing off.
I fell for this one in college. At the time I felt really stupid, but it was less than $20 and that guy probably needed it more than I did.
Yes. There are many political cartoons out there that are like
KKK/Nazis/Republicans: "The blacks/Jews/non-whites are not people
Left: “they’re people. All people deserve respect and dignity”
“”“Centrist”“”: "wow I can’t tell you two apart " / “surely we can compromise. maybe kill half?”
Many people were taught “everyone is entitled to their opinion” and only learned that in the most naive way. They take it as “I can believe what I want, no matter what, and you have to accept that”.
Many people are quite stupid. I don’t mean ignorant. I don’t mean they don’t know stuff. I mean stupid. I mean they look at a set of facts and draw bad conclusions. They see more black people being arrested and go “blacks must do more crime” and don’t even consider “is enforcement equal?” or other confounding factors.
But idiots still vote. And carry guns
So I don’t know what the solution is.
Probably remove all conservatives from power, first. Invest more in education. Prevent consolidation of power in the hands of the wealthy.
If this was 1840 I’d be more convinced. We have the internet. We’ve had radio for a hundred years. You shouldn’t need to go to a rally to know what a major politican’s visions, plans, goals, etc, are.
“I felt ignored” is a stupid emotional response, but I can understand it, kind of. Sometimes I’m petty, too. Feeling so ignored that you vote for trump is inexcusable, though. I don’t think I’d excuse shirking your civic duty here, either.
I mean all of that might be true but I still put a lot of blame on the assholes who voted for trump.
Sometimes we act like only Democrats have agency, and Republicans are just like a force of nature. Like a fire that burns without thought or a bear that mauls because that’s what bears do. But they’re still people and they could have chosen something else.
Trump supporters are at fault.
“Clinton didn’t come to my state and make me feel special” is not an acceptable justification for supporting the catastrofuck that is trump.
Usually I think about what they like and what problems they have going on. Like one person in my life commented on being cold a lot, likes cats, so I got her a nice blanket that has a giant cat on it. Not mind blowing or anything, but it shows I was listening. She loves it.
I tell people don’t try to buy me anything technical. Like I’ve been thinking of getting a 4k monitor, but I’ll do an excessive amount of research before buying one. If someone else got me one and it wasn’t right for some reason, I’d feel terrible.
Maybe, but I think what you said is very naive. Like, “They let a doctor cut people open, but when I do it, it’s a crime” tier.
