Ahh I see. Guess I was too hung up on OP’s question. Thanks for clearing that up
Of course the servers are ownes by someone, what are you talking about? The thing is just that not all servers belong to one entity. So lemmy couldn’t be turned off because one person decides so.
I mean, if you zoom far enough, its just a few atoms floating around in mostly nothing.

On my google pixel 5 with android 14 it says “this app is too old for your device”. Maybe it just works because you installed it before upgrading or something?
Nope, its an apartment I rent and I can’t redo the cabling myself because the building is owned by several parties so the stairwell belongs to everyone and I could be kicked out if I do it without being allowed.
I’m paying 50eur for 250 in Germany but I’m only getting 10-15 because of the shitty cabling in our house. Yay!
maybe I should start checking thrift stores around me as well, hmmm… I doubt I’m going to find one of these seeing as I am in germany lol
edit: actually looks like there are a bunch available on ebay. I really should check those thrift stores around me…
I really like that guy from the videos, so if you do, too, also check his video about a 50 year old toaster out! (It’s cooler than any toasters we have nowadays and I want one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OfxlSG6q5Y
Technology connections huh?
Edit: yup
Well, maybe you should give people at least some kind of idea of what to expect, if you want them to follow your advice. Does it change your perspective? Does it ground you? Or do you just like silent outside spaces that have a sense of order to them?
True, but that does not automatically mean that the article is clickbait.
