Don’t quote the old magic to me. It’s a shadow of what once was and will never be again.

That’s why they were asking for $1billion in liquid assets as collateral for a ~$500 million bond.
But yes, I agree with you.
I don’t remember.
I have a vague recollection of seeing them in Century Club, the most exclusive subreddit for all the people who have spent an hour farming karma.
Beelieve them, don’t believe them, who gives a shit what you believe? You’re not entitled to know everything.
More likely, he’ll use the stock as collateral to secure the bond he needs to appeal the New York State fraud fines. Then when he loses the appeal, he can sell the stock he controls, tank the value, and refuse to pay and let the creditors take the now worthless security.
So you sentence the terrorist to 5 years, most of which he’s already served…
One of them said she had not commented about the case online, but she had retweeted a post calling Tsarnaev a “piece of garbage.” Another juror said none of his Facebook friends had commented on the trial, even though one had urged him to “play the part” so he could get on the jury and send Tsarnaev to “jail where he will be taken care of,” defense attorneys say. Tsarnaev’s lawyers raised those concerns during jury selection, but say the judge chose not to look into them further.
So the question is not “were these jurors biased?” because clearly they were. The question is whether the judge investigated the bias enough, which he obviously didn’t because he ignored the evidence and allowed the jurors on the jury.
I could not care less about the life of Tsarnaev. If he dies, he dies. But this is a prime example of why we should not be executing criminals. The legal system we have in place cannot be trusted to deliver justice. It is flawed, corrupt, and inherently unjust. The government should not use it to kill people.
They don’t care what free speech means.
I mean, what do you expect him to say? “Lol, get fucked”?
68 is like a child age 9-12. They might learn to take care of themselves, and maybe find a job.
Don’t kid yourself, it’s not just politics. Bullshit, ego, and a callous disregard for the welfare of others can make you extremely successful in any capitalist endeavor.
I would imagine that the collateral could be cash or liquid assets like stocks or bonds. That would justify the additional demand of $1 billion, because stock values fluctuate. The benefit to Trump is that he wouldn’t have to sell the assets, incurring a taxable event, and potentially losing out on future capital gains (or capital losses to be used as tax offsets).
Putting the money in escrow for the appeal would need to be cash.
You said you wrote a thesis, so I figured you had a theory.
The doors to the polling station are locked while ballots are being counted, and no one is allowed to go home until the count is complete. Basic self-interest ensures that counts are done in a timely fashion, while also ensuring that every candidate can have a representative that was part of the counting process.
Right, but do you have a political cult who would willingly stall the process so it would not be completed in a reasonable time just so that they can claim the process is flawed and skewed against them when they lose?
You’re right, my bad. Freedom Units, or Irony Units, if you’re feeling saucy.
This isn’t bail. This is a judgement against him that he is required to pay. What he wants to do is appeal the judgement, but to appeal he has to put up the money first. It’s like in My Cousin Vinny where Vinny refused to kick that guy’s ass until he had the $200, and the guy tried to pretend a roll of singles was the full amount.
Trump needs to show the government he has the money before he can appeal the ruling. If he can’t, they can begine seizing his assets and selling them until the debt is paid. .
Defending Imperial units to people who prefer metric.
Because they’re old-tymey. Everything was sepia tinted and muddy back then, and they didn’t have fancy dyes or expensive rendering software to make many polygons.
