Bah, I can’t keep track of all that crap.
The important question is, are we on an even numbered lie or an odd numbered lie?

Not that weird once you think how the way to a good credit score is to use debt a lot and pay on time.
Well that’s a funny way to spell “make sure not to buy anything GM or OnStar” but I guess it’s still legible.
That’s the cannon half of glass cannon. :D
That is so annoying, how YT’s algorithm just wants to show you the same thing.
Being Google and all, I would expect them to have a sophisticated algorithm that learns your daily patterns and gets really good at what kind of content you want to watch next. But no, it’s “yo dawg I saw you watched a car video so I queued up car videos to play after your other car videos!”
It’s not a mystery why, though. I assume their algorithm is much better at keeping people watching anything for as long as possible, rather than delivering the best product.
In this context I think we have to assume life or death tactics by both combatants.
But that’s an important distinction because MOST of the time we deal with pissed off animals that we don’t want to hurt, much less kill. So that gives some animals a big advantage in real world encounters. Maybe most adults could kill a goose if they had to, but in real life 99% of adults are going to back off or run away rather than deal with a fucking goose!
Yeah but we Americans get to use as many guns as we can carry on our person.
I guess +guns and -healthcare makes us the glass cannons of the man vs beast challenge!
D’oh!
For sure. If renewables are already significantly cheaper, and that’s because the cost has been falling and falling, how much cheaper will they be in another decade?
For nuclear, maybe the only hope is if SMRs ever take off and benefit from some economies of scale. If you can just order a handful of modular reactors from the factory and be selling electricity within a year, that changes the whole dynamic.
Unfortunately I think the latest I read about it is that SMRs are currently more expensive per watt than the traditional nuclear plants, and they’re focusing on remote areas and industrial heat and stuff like that. If that’s correct, we might need a solar-like rapidly dropping price for them to compete for mainstream grid power use.
Yeah, on one hand nuclear energy is very safe, runs 24/7, and doesn’t belch greenhouse gases and poisons into the air. But on the other hand, it’s expensive, takes a long time to build, and many people are irrationally afraid of it.
Unfortunately, I think the real-world decisions are going to be dictated 99% by economics. But that can turn back into a good thing as green/renewable energy gets cheaper and cheaper.
So who is your skin graft guy?
That answer is like the electronics version of the image with Patrick Stewart and the caption:
“Use the force, Harry
-Gandalf”
Sure but you can only do it once!
Seriously, even 75C water coming out of the tap would be dangerous and negligent.
That works the other way too. The second half of the Trump administration brought three separate events into my life that would each be financially devastating on their own. I went from debt free except mortgage and a proper emergency fund to now, even with a higher salary, I’m scraping by and have a bunch of debt to pay off.
But I’m one of those people that knows that the President doesn’t directly control my financial situation. Trump sure as shit didn’t improve anything he touched, and I could see things in my life being a bit different if he was remotely competent with Covid, sure. I had more money at the end of the Obama administration than the end of the Trump administration. But even if that were swapped I don’t see that as a compelling reason to vote for a corrupt narcissistic rapey wannabe dictator.
Yeah but DVD-RAM made it colorful and transparent and cool. The iMac of ancient failed storage technologies!
I barely touched weed my whole life until I got medical access ~5 years ago. I was also never a big drinker or user of other recreational substances.
The stuff helps me so much that I use my vape or edibles almost every single day. That plus the margin of safety makes it downright cruel in my eyes that it’s prohibited in so many places.
But I guess given the racist motives of the anti-marijuana push 40 years ago, maybe the cruelty was the point.
You’d hear a distinct repetitive buzzing sound in the speakers right before the phone rang.
Limited government for me, my buddies, and my investments.
…but lots of laws are unfortunately necessary to protect the core of American values (i.e., me, my buddies, & investments) from all the undesirables out there!

I think we have many citizens that need to recognize that the founding fathers were humans and not divine utopia engineers.
We should change some stuff to make the country better. Many of the big things were designed to be very hard to change though. That makes me worry that things will have to get that much worse before the people & politicians are ready to actually do something.
