Sorry kids, I know we kinda ruined that whole democracy thing which also lead to further erosion of the planet for ya, but there was a hivemind! I couldn’t allow that!
the vast majority of TikTok users are outside the United States.
Then they can decide that it would be better to not serve the United States users and keep the “vast majority” of their userbase as-is
It’snotmuch
To be fair, the context here has nothing to do with the movie, just the spelling being done for funsies. But it’s still a fun watch.
May I recommend the movie Idiocracy to you? You will be one of today’s lucky 10,000
I probably count as that type of person you describe. I found a model on Lemmy that I really wanted to make and ended up buying an Ender 3 v2 cheap with a coupon at Micro Center. Has it totally been trouble-free? No. But I got it for a hundred bucks, plus a few addons (auto-level, flexible magnetic bed). I’d have to pay significantly more for a nicer one, when this is just an experimental hobby. I don’t care if I have to fiddle around a little more to get my occasional print going. In a way fine-tuning is part of the problem solving and tinkering I’m really looking for. I don’t care if the quality is less than what another printer can do. I don’t need a Cadillac when a Geo gets me to the grocery store just fine.
Oh, and most of my issues were caused by shitty filament. Once I went from some weird stuff on Amazon to the Inland I’ve had better success with, things went way better. I’m surprised that’s not mentioned more actually.
President Trump thanks you. At least he should put Netanyahu in his place just like he did Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping, and Viktor Orbán
Not practically, especially when plurality takes all and there’s no ranked choice voting system. Say you had a candidate who was 95% perfect for you, another who was at 80%, and another who agreed with 10% of your beliefs. Now let’s say that only the latter two had a realistic shot. When you throw your vote away on someone who never had a chance, rather than the guy who came close and could’ve won, you may as well have voted for the guy you agreed with least.
Take a look at Hawaii’s special election in 2010. This district should have been a shoo-in for a Democrat running against a Republican. But when two Democrats run against a Republican? Their vote splits and the guy with 40% of the vote wins - even though one of the other two better lined up with 60% of the voters
Thanks for playing, though.
Broken Senate rules basically require 60% to bring something that isn’t budget-related to a vote.
Thanks! Posting here was on my to-do list, but by the time I got this far it was way past my bedtime 😉
Done! I’ll try and create more posts soon 🙂
Hello! Not sure if you’re an admin or anything exciting on that instance, but I have a hobby restoring antique radios (personally, my favorites are from the 1940s) and I’ve been meaning to start a Lemmy community for that. It’s a little different than the stuff on retrolemmy now, but maybe that would be a decent fit? Happy to keep it on the major instances, but I like the idea of helping each instance keep some kind of theme!
If you’re being that literal, you’re missing the point.
