There certainly is a history of attacking Apple over their use of encryption. I wonder if they’re still mad they didn’t get that iPhone backdoor they wanted.

There are more vacant homes than there are homeless. By an extremely wide margin in most cities. Apparently it’s magical to believe the problem isn’t a lack of homes, but completely reasonable to believe we just need to build more.
I’m sure this will result in swift, appropriate actions to hold them accountable. Just let me start holding my breath
Private jets should not exist. As a source of tax revenue or otherwise. The fact that there are tax write offs rather than penalties for using them is just mind boggling.
What’s your age cutoff for young adult? Voters under 49 make up about half the electorate. Voters under 29 are comparable in number to those over 65. It makes about as much sense to court the youth vote as it does the elderly, but I’ve seen no one imply that it’s a waste to appeal to the latter.
It’s a pretty bad tactic because while it may let you take credit for improving some people’s lives, you’re also giving tacit permission for those worse off to blame you for it. This only works if the majority of people are better off than they were four years ago and recognize that they are. That’s probably not a safe assumption when we’ve got record inflation and dipped close to, if not into, a recession. Just think of all the mass layoffs you heard about over the past four years.
It’s not historical but medieval fantasy settings generally tend to be based around medieval European tropes. I guess I just assumed your problem was with period accuracy because there are variations in the accents. Karlach has a working-class accent, Asterion is posh, Shadowheart is middle class? british.
It could be more overt, I suppose, or incorporate more than just british regional accents, but I feel like they made more of an effort than you’re giving them credit for. I really disagree with any of it sounding like a theater troupe, though, save maybe Dame Aylin but that’s in-line with her character.
but it doesn’t even sound like shakespear or theatre it sounds like natural, maybe slightly RP, modern english accent. and didn’t say you are complaining, I suggested you would if they were talking in incomprehensible ‘accurate’ accents. even a period london accent would probably be tricky to grasp
its a bunch of english VOs doing their natural voices. if they adopted like a period-accurate cockney or something you’d be complaining about how they’re impossible to understand. actual shakespear would also probably be difficult to parse
Israel was tightly controlling the amount of calories per capita that entered the strip long before Oct 7 even happened. Their justification was that any excess would provide Palestinians with a stockpile that would make any future sieges less effective. They weren’t even allowed to collect rainwater.
This isn’t a new program, it’s an extension of a program signed into law by GWB. Go ahead and tell me all about how the republicans are obstructing it though. While you’re at it, go look up who’s responsible for making it impossible to discharge student loan debt through bankruptcy.
I wish I got this much credit for half assedly fixing problems I helped create.
well i guess it’s fine, then. got myself all worked up over nothing
UV tattoo ink is one of the only inks that have been approved by the FDA (for animal use). They’ve been used for a long time in livestock. Not that that should make you comfortable with sticking it into your skin or anything, but it’s probably not quite the same as powdering your face with radium.
While we’re on the subject of historically misguided applications of radioactive materials: ever heard of uranium glass? People get real weird around spicy rocks.
they probably got a lot of people to buy the first couple battlepasses. a success for that quarter, maybe, but probably not the long tail they were hoping to get from transforming it into the GaaS model. they probably made more money from OW1 lootboxes, overall
yeah I don’t think she’s unaware. just emphasizing that the asymmetric nature of the relationship extends past just profiting off a basic need.
I like the unspoken part where the people who have lived in this home must vacate when she decides she wants to spend a few years living in the UK again. They should have to find new accommodation when it suits her, but she is not subject to such requirements.
There are UV reactive tattoo inks. Not exactly the same but pretty close, and probably safer than trying to manipulate your genes.
There are humans with a fourth color receptor in their eyes who may have a wider color range than your average person. Women only though, sorry boys.
