So $70 + MTX for poor optimization, bugs, and linear gameplay. Glad I passed on this.

+ Denuvo. Complete pass from me but Capcom is a complete garbage company that tries to milk the shit out of everything they touch nowadays.

Edit: Formatting. And the Steam forums are already full of the usual “wokeism” rage baiters…

      Micro transactions

      They did fucking what

Goddamnit. At least I have most of Dark Arisen still in front of me; I slept on it for years because of Dark Souls/Elden Ring, Starsector, BG3, etc., but it’s really grabbing me lately.

Iirc the microtransactions were put into the final game on release. I guess also all of the dlc - they probably had everything unlocked for reviewers, and then locked it for players buying the game.

This seems to happen more and more lately.

It’s misleading and scummy as fuck, and I won’t be picking up the game because of it.

Sure, but gaming boycotts don’t work. That’s why they are doing this. They rake in tons of money and alienate maybe 1% of their userbase. The reason is simple. The first paid mount microtransaction in World of Warcraft made more money than the entirety of Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty. They won’t care about reviews - sales will go through the roof anyway, and they’ll rake in a shitload of cash on microtransactions.

Wow. It requires $1.99 to edit your character after creation in a $70 singleplayer game. How could they do this to my Dragon’s Dogma. I was so excited for this game.

And only once. You can’t buy another one to do it again. Your only option is to buy ingame.

That being said, the publisher is well-known for doing useless and overpriced microtransactions. Why everyone acts so surprised and nobody cared before release is beyond me.

Read many having issues running on Linux, bad performance, mtx. Such a shame, DD was a wonderful game and I WAS excited for 2. Hope they don’t do the same with monster hunters but something tells me they will try.

The MTX are a big L. Performance wise I’ve been able to get it running fine on my old graphics card, but npcs in the major towns only pop-in if I’m standing atop them now and it looks like Dark Souls Remastered.

Would be interested to hear if anyone with a cutting edge rig has been able to max it out, I’d imagine the game can be pretty gorgeous.
