So the U.S gov (who no one was working and making decisions back then) should go back in time and do something else instead of trying to take the high road now, because they took the low road then. Got it.

They never stopped funding Islamic fundamentalism and mujaheddin for their purposes and are the biggest allies of Saudi Arabia which also funds Wahhabism worldwide. It isn’t the “high road” if you are the ones responsible for the actions you are warning about. To me what the Americans did sounds more like a threat than the high road. Never take anything reported by any intelligence community at face value. They do not deal in truth.
