I’m not afraid of words. I am expressing my own displeasure with Lex Fridman by using words right now. If you don’t agree with my opinion then that is your prerogative, but what I said was factually accurate. You won’t find that same factual accuracy in either of those interviews, and that is the fucking problem.

I’m assuming they also required financials for these properties that show any mortgages or liens that are already attached to them. There is no way they would accept collateral that already has liabilities against them because they would not be able to seize them outright, and if a sale was forced that caused the property to sell for way below market value they might not recoup their funds. I see no way that any major financial institution is going to risk a half a billion dollars on Trump’s behalf without a 100% guaranteed return on investment.

It already is an election issue regardless of how you personally feel. While both PARTIES may support Israel, a large percentage of Democratic votes DO NOT. Therefore, it is defacto an election issue.

Until recently I would have agreed, but currently things seem to be in a state of flux. There has been a lot of unprovoked violence post pandemic, and not a lot of agreement about what to do about it.

They will never see the error of their ways. It has literally never happened. The liberalization of society and the ostracizing of fundamentalism is the only thing that has ever had an appreciable affect. Punishing those in power who push these ideas into the mainstream is the solution.

You are 100% correct. It is the tyranny of the minority, and as far as I can tell there are currently no viable solutions to deal with this issue.

Look, here’s the deal. There are more Republican controlled states than Democrat controlled states. If they intelligently target the voting systems in the available swings states, and manipulate the legal system to purge voter rolls or toss ballots in a more organized fashion than in 2020 we are in serious fucking trouble.

Then there is the threat of armed militia members showing up at polling stations, and you can see where things are going to get crazy in November. I feel bad for anyone that has to put up with that bullshit instead of being able to cast a ballot by mail in 5 minutes, but we are counting on you to help save this country. You are the real heroes, and you deserve maximum respect in my book.

My mom has told me this since I was a kid, and it is still something I am trying to put into practice effectively when met with challenging situations. It is the most forgiving way I can think of to get yourself in the mental headspace you are talking about without the “time to nut up” connotation.

While I generally agree with you assessment, I think it is important to note that not punishing Trump would embolden or exacerbate his brand of bully pulpit tactics even more. This fear of retribution just means we need to be ever vigilant, and take the threat of authoritarian minority rule seriously.

That is what we are ultimately talking about, and the only way to prevent that is to stay engaged politically, and to hold our leaders to account whenever they trample on the rights of our fellow citizens or our democracy.

Trump will continue to play grab ass with the fuck-around gang until he finds the exact line in the sand that guarantees he gets held in pre-trial detention. If he gets thrown in the slammer while awaiting trial he will claim he is a political prisoner, and if they don’t stick him there he will do everything in his power to commit soft-treason through his cult. Everything surrounding Trump is, and always has been a lose/lose situation for this country.

Until he is made to suffer serious consequences for his violent petulence and penchant for authoritarianism things will never move forward in any meaningful way. He is a distraction that, when all is said and done, will have stagnated the progress of this country for a decade at minimum.
