Salacious slandering of stonefruit, surely.
Salacious slandering of stonefruit, surely.
This just in: making the world a better place for a few at the expense of the many does not inspire people to want to bring new people into the world.
I feel like these games don’t reflect the number of people being hired for them. I’m not sure it should linearly scale (probably not), but they seem like they scale down rather than up with an increase in staff.
This is what happens when game studios are being run by people that only view video games as a means to generate money. They do not understand the industry or craft involved and will blindly apply whatever the newest MBA management strategy is the new hotness, throw money and headcount at projects. And cannot understand that more is usually not better when it comes to video game development.
Give San Pellegrino a try. Little lime juice and salt for a salted lime soda or lime and mint for a virgin mojito.
And computer networking, especially the ability to remote into a system and make changes or deliver updates en masse, was nowhere near as robust as it is today meaning a lot of those fixes were done manually.
we are seeing multidimensional cross sections of them, which give them such an otherworldly appearance
Accurate or not I’ve always liked Vonnegut’s description of the viewpoint from the 4th dimension to the 3rd:
“The creatures can see where each star has been and where it is going, so that the heavens are filled with rarefied, luminous spaghetti. And Tralfamadorians don’t see human beings as two-legged creatures, either. They see them as great millepedes—“with babies’ legs at one end and old people’s legs at the other,” says Billy Pilgrim.

It’s baffling that the term has been used as an insult by anti-intellectuals
The end of your sentence is the unbaffler you need.
That’s because the meme references a time earlier than the 1980s. 1950-1970 or so would be the bubble of time where this was still possible. Union declines up to 1980 aided Reagonomics in thoroughly fucking everyone from middle incomes down.
They isolate the chemicals they want to test for smell through extraction/synthesis/purification and then have a professional smeller identify what scents that particular chemical matches.
They can also compare the isolated chemicals to known scents containing the same chemicals.
What this means is that two steroids (5alphaandrost-…) found in teens’ armpits are also found in sweat, urine, musk, and sandalwood. The 6 carbolic acids are also found in cheese, goats, and wax.
So to answer your question: not subjective. This is objective, reproducible evidence.
We have catalogued many chemicals and what they smell or taste like. You can thank the perfume industry for a good portion of the smell based science. A lot of flavor based research exists, as well. Unfortunately some of that research was done for sick purposes like finding out how to engender craving or how to make the body ignore chemical signals that it is full and it is time to stop earing. But I digress.
