    Put them both in soundproof booths and only turn on their microphones when it’s their turn to actually respond to a question.

      It has seemed like the painfully obvious solution for years to simply have both mics powered off until and unless it’s time for that candidate to speak.

      If they get 30 seconds, after 30 seconds, the timer cuts the power again.

        why would anybody tolerate that? I wouldn’t. if my mic got cut after 30 seconds, I would kick over my podium and grab the moderator’s mic.
