Three separate, unrelated shootings erupted within an hour in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on Sunday night, leaving one person dead and several hurt, according to authorities.

The first shooting was reported at 7:50 p.m. when two people started firing guns near the Best Western Hotel, Jacksonville Beach police said on Monday.

One bystander was injured and both suspects were injured, police said.

I do find it a bit funny that all of a sudden people in Florida have a problem with spring break partyers after decades of courting them and even allowing abusive assholes like “Girls Gone Wild” to film and exploit there.

It’s not all of a sudden. The Spring Break crowd has been controversial for decades. Bar and hotel owners of course love them. Locals unaffiliated with the tourism industry are more ambivalent and always have been.

The only way Florida survives is its tourism industry. It replaces income the state would normally get from income taxes, along with the many other very high taxes Florida has. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Though it does appear to be the first time that a concerted effort has been undertaken to resolve this as a problem.

For me, what told me the sort of person who goes down there came during some interview during the first Covid spring break where some douchebag is on camera talking about how he wasn’t going to let the “Rona” ruin his good time. I am certain that it’s horrible to live near the places that people frequent.

What’s happening here is that they want it to keep happening until it’s “not news”. They’ve just about managed it to be honest. Fuck.

I’m telling you, Molotov cocktails work. Any time I had a problem, and I threw a Molotov cocktail, boom! Right away, I had a different problem.

I asked “how is one person dying better than another”?

By answering, you are more or less directly saying a ganganger’s life isn’t worth as much, because they “chose” to be involved in a life of crime.

That shows that you think some people are worth more than others. Why?

It also shows very little understanding towards the type of people who often are involved in crime, without having much of a say in it.

              Please, watch the video.

Is a Hitler’s life worth less than a kindergarten teacher who has sent hundreds of children off into successful and happy lives through a loving education?

You’re now admitting to exactly what I said in my first comment. You don’t care about the crime and the violence, because the kids dying are over 16 and in gangs.

You use that as your justification for accepting it, and then you judge all gun crime to be gang crime.

A very convenient way to not address the fact that the US is the only developed country in the world where the leading cause of death for children is firearm injuries.
